For Londyn Chapman, construction is more than just building walls—it’s building opportunities. Now working with Higgins Group in Wichita, Kansas, Londyn sees the industry as a place where anyone can find their path. “A lot of people go into high school planning to go to college without really knowing what they want to do,” Londyn explains. “This field has a lot of different opportunities, and there’s something for everyone.”
From hands-on roles to leadership and even business operations, Londyn values the flexibility the construction industry offers. “You can be in marketing, you can do the hands-on construction, you can run the business, you can be a foreman, you can be a leader,” Londyn says. “There are many opportunities, and it’s definitely something to look into if you’re not sure what you want to do.”
Londyn also appreciates the way construction careers build on experience. “You don’t just start at the top. The people who’ve gotten there started here. They worked their way up, learned how to do the projects, and now they know what they’re doing—that’s how I’m going to teach other people.”
With drywall as the starting point, Londyn is laying the foundation for a career filled with growth, mentorship, and leadership in construction.
