The Story

From a young age, Kordell Webb has been captivated by construction, inspired by the TV show “Bob the Builder” and hands-on experiences helping with small projects at home. Although his high school, Trinity Academy, did not offer shop classes, Kordell’s passion for construction continued to grow, especially after encouragement from his brother-in-law, Ben Adler, a former K-State football player who introduced him to the industry.

Kordell initially attended Hastings College in Nebraska, majoring in business while playing golf. However, he soon realized his true calling was in construction. After seeing billboards for Butler Community College’s construction program, he made the switch and excelled in his studies there.

During his second year at Butler, Kordell balanced school with work, thanks to Dondlinger Construction’s flexible schedule, which allowed him to gain real-world experience while continuing his education. He credits this opportunity with helping him apply classroom knowledge to actual job sites.

Kordell’s long-term goal is to become a superintendent, and he envisions his career progressing from a field engineer or assistant superintendent to eventually running large-scale construction projects. He’s currently working on a three-story building project under the guidance of an experienced mentor at Dondlinger, and he is excited about his future in the construction industry.
